Southern Kentucky/Cumberland Area

Like many locations in Kentucky, the Cumberland River, mountains, lake, gap, city, and county were named for an Englishman (Prince William, Duke of Cumberland in this case).  The gap opened western expansion through the Appalachians into Kentucky and Tennessee. The region is known for its scenic beauty and friendly folks. Click on an image to make it full size, then click the right or left arrows to scroll between images. Ready to sign up?
