JOIN US JUNE 16-25
IN KENTUCKY
Lord willing, two full buses will be taking in the sites of the beautiful state of Kentucky this summer. One bus will originate at MLC in New Ulm, MN on June 16 and the other will begin at St John Lutheran Church (Oakwood) in Oak Creek, WI on June 17. A detailed itinerary is available by clicking here.
The Lord called Professor Lyle Lange to his side on December 1. We are very thankful that he is home with Jesus, but saddened that our fellowship with him is on recess until we join him there. As many of you know, he was passionate about apologetics, held the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter in high regard, and had intended to join us as one of our guides. In his place, we're pleased to inform you that Rev Mike Otterstatter, MLC Vice-President for Mission Advancement, and Greg Diersen, MLC Professor of Science, will be joining us as guides and devotion leaders.
Getting There is Half the Fun
Part of the joy of group travel is "leaving the driving to us". No need to worry about traffic, tolls, or parking. Just sit back, relax, take a nap, get to know your neighbor, or enjoy the on-board entertainment. This year's tour has 2 primary options for getting "there" to Kentucky.
Option A is to depart on the motor coach from New Ulm on Friday, June 16 at 7:00AM. We will travel through Southern Minnesota and Wisconsin on our way to our evening hotel destination near the Milwaukee airport. Those living along the route are welcome to park and ride from one of our planned stops at Peace, North Mankato; Ascension, Rochester; St Paul, Bangor; Eastside, Madison; or the WELS Center for Mission and Ministry, Waukesha. Additional pick-up locations may be possible upon request. Planned activities on that first day include a tour of the WELS Center for Mission & Ministry and dinner at the always fun Organ Piper Pizza. The group will stay at the same location near the Milwaukee airport on Saturday, June 24. Those returning to New Ulm or points en route on Sunday, June 25 will worship in Milwaukee and enjoy a couple hours exploring along the Riverwalk or enjoying lunch/shopping on Old World Third Street.
Option B is to meet us in Milwaukee and travel with us Saturday, June 17-Saturday, June 24. You can park your vehicle at St John, 10372 27th St, in Oak Creek and the coach would swing by to pick you up at 8:30. The coach would return to that same location on June 24 around 6PM. Those starting and ending in Milwaukee get $200 off the advertised price and have the option of staying at the group hotel for $100/room if you'd like.
Motorcoach from New Ulm
Those beginning the westward journey with us from New Ulm may park free of charge in the MLC lot nearest the Chapel where we will load. Additional pick-up point options are noted above. A deluxe Ready Bus motor coach that will be our home for the next 10 days. You'll enjoy amenities such as individual fans, reading lights, reclining seats, wifi, on-board restroom, PA system, DVD player, and AC outlets at each seat. Complimentary bottled water is provided throughout the tour and occasional complimentary snacks will keep you going through the day.
Motorcoach from Milwaukee
Those beginning their trip with us in Milwaukee may park free of charge in the parking lot at St John, 10372 27th St, Oak Creek (note that there are 2 WELS churches named St John in Oak Creek). One couple will be picked up in Gurnee, IL. Coach USA will be providing the motor coach we use out of Milwaukee.
